These terms govern your use of atilingo.com, operated by Atilingo Inc., a California public benefit corporation. By using this site, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
Atilingo publishes editorial content, language reference data, and recordings related to our mission of documenting Indigenous African languages. The site includes a newsletter signup, a search feature, and ways to contact us about contributing or donating.
Text, design, and original photography on this site belong to Atilingo unless otherwise credited. You're welcome to share links and quote short excerpts with attribution. Please don't republish full articles or recordings without asking us first.
Some photographs on this site are used under Creative Commons or public domain licenses, credited where the license requires it. Those images remain the property of their original creators under their respective licenses.
Audio, transcripts, and stories shared by language contributors are published with their informed consent and remain credited to them. Contributors retain the right to request changes to how their contribution is credited or displayed.
Don't use this site to scrape or bulk-extract contributor data, misrepresent recordings or contributors, or attempt to interfere with the site's normal operation.
This site and its content are provided "as is." We work to keep language reference data (speaker counts, endangerment status, and similar figures) accurate and current, but linguistic data changes and estimates vary by source — treat it as a reference point, not a definitive figure.
Donations made to Atilingo go toward fieldwork, transcription, and contributor support as described on the Donate page. If online giving is not yet available when you visit, donations are coordinated directly by email.
We may update these terms as the site evolves. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
